ICOM Antenna Tuners
Using an Icom antenna tuner with non-Icom radios
The circuit described a non-Icom radio to be used with the Icom AH-3, AH-4, AT-120, and AT-130 antenna tuners. Note: Icom recommends that an experienced Electronics Technician perform this.
This circuit allows a non-Icom transmitter to be used in conjunction with a Icom random wire Automatic Antenna Tuner such as the AH-3, AFI-4, AT-120, and the AT-130.
These tuners are designed to automaticaly tune with 5 to 15 watts of rf energy. DO NOT EXCEED THIS or damage will result.
1) Be sure power supply is "ON" and all cables connected correctly
2) Before connecting the rf output coax cable to the tuner, set your transmitter to CW mode, then adjust power out to 10 watts; then reconnect your coax to the tuner.
3) Momentarily push the "START" switch
Note: The LED will go out when the start button is pressed and come back "ON" in a few seconds if the tuner can tune your antenna
