26DA086 Tests *NEW* Pulsar Quad

Dynamic dx adventurist 26DA086 Mark from the south England county of Kent has recently added an attention-grabbing new antenna to his roof-top

and, if the Cluster dk spot board is anything to go by, is enjoying some staggering results too!

More typically used in the field by dx travellers rather than as a home base antenna, this unique looking and performing antenna is called a Pulsar 2 element quad.

On the word of Mark, it has only about 4db gain but it has worked very well indeed.  Contacts with Benin (183), Ecuador (61), Australia (43), Saint Martin Island (207), Grenada Island and Depende (195) as well as big signal reports from all over Europe including Turkey (116) and Greece (18) have been proof of that.

Of the stations worked in 43 Division, Mark was particularly happy to test the new quad’s capabilities with fellow DA-RCie 43DA021 Brian in South Australia.

According to infos found on the internet, this distinctive antenna is available direct via eBay in the UK, USA and Australia, though 26DA086 Mark himself may be able to recommend another supplier!

Please note Mark’s new QSL infos below which now appear in the DA-RC directory…
