*Coming in 2012* The DXtreme Team Challenge

The 2012 DXtreme Team Challenge is the newest contest innovation by the Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) in the field of Radio

Sports.  If the buzz of anticipation within the DA-RC fraternity is anything to go by then this event is set to become one of the most spirited in the 11m and Citizens Band (CB) DX Communities!

Radio Sports is an electrifying concept which sees individuals and/or teams of determined DX Hunters set extreme radio challenges in a competitive environment, involving speed of logging contacts in pile-ups, a high level of physical exertion through hours on the microphone, highly specialized gear and a deal of collaborative approaches to selecting team members and targeting DXCC.

The higher number of inherently uncontrollable variables and the potential of various extraordinary human experiences also, contributes to making the DA-RC’s DXtreme Team Challenge just that; one in which DX Hunters in teams compete not only against other DXers in teams on the first weekend in December, but also against environmental obstacles and challenges.  These factors alone have the capacity to induce an adrenaline rush in participants!

Because these natural phenomena (e.g. sun spots, etc.) cannot be controlled, they inevitably affect the outcome of propagation, of the number of stations logged by any one team member, his or her access to unique DXCC multipliers and therefore a team’s accumulated log score.  Herein lays the source of adversity in the DXtreme Team Challenge – to overcome such strenuous circumstances and compile a healthy log, regardless of the conditions experienced by any one team member.

DA-RC’s DXtreme Team Challenge is open to all DXers and all radio clubs with terrific prizes such as medallions and full colour certificates up for grabs for all participants.

Participating teams and team members will be profiled on the DA-RC website in the lead up to the event with teams also encouraged to come up with their own unique nickname which is another exciting feature of the event.

For all the details, rules and participation guidelines please see and check out the infos on prizes too by following the links in the right hand side menu.
