The DXCC chosen for this event is a “Most Wanted” ham and 11m identity and, according to 11m databases such as Cluster dk and Islands Base Online, has not been present on 26-27 MHz frequencies for more than a decade.
As per the previous 2 years which captured the imagination of the 11m DX Community, team members for this DXpedition party will meet in the Queensland city of Brisbane in the days preceding the dx adventure and departure will be from Brisbane’s International Airport at a specified date in 2012.
The anticipated duration of this ‘once in a life time DXpedition opportunity’ will be approximately 2 weeks (14 days) and the cost per person approximately $2000—3000 AUD. This will cover travel, lodgings, meals and other expenses.
As per the Vanuatu and Solomons activities, a comprehensive DXpedition planning brochure outlining ham friendly accommodation, selected station equipment, DXCC and IOTA references, and travel advice, with maps, contact details and more, has been compiled and will be made available to all team members in hard copy.
